2018 Annual Meeting

The University of Nottingham, Wednesday 10th & Thursday 11th January 2018

Following the success of the SARS Meeting held at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2017, we are pleased to announce that the 2018 meeting will be held at the University of Nottingham on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th January 2018.

Abstracts

Abstracts can be submitted online now at http://www.surginet.org.uk/abstracts.

Closing date for submission is 5.00pm, 9th September 2017

All abstracts must be submitted online. The top abstracts selected will be invited to compete for the highly prestigious Patey Prize, with the remainder of those selected invited to present as an Oral or Poster Presentation.

Other prizes being offered:

  • Norman Williams Prize for the best clinical presentation
  • Kevin Burnand Prize for the best basic science/experimental presentation
  • President’s Poster Prize
  • Best Medical Student Oral Presentation
  • ASiT prize for best paper relating to surgical education and training

We will also be holding a Future Projects Prize Session which is for novel projects which the presenter is undertaking, but the study should not have been completed.

Following the success of the perioperative care day at the 2017 meeting, we are delighted that we will be repeating this in Nottingham, on Thursday 11th January, when you can hear about the latest developments in general surgery, anaesthetics and ITU.

The BBA will also again be joining us for a parallel meeting on 11th January.

BJS Lecture
