SURGICAL ACADEMIC BURSARIES

The winners of the SARS Bursaries, each to be awarded £3,000 at the SARS meeting in January 2007, are as follows:

  • Edward Choke - Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) enhancement of angiotensin-II induced aneurysms in apolipoprotein-E deficient mice: Molecular mechanisms and immunohistochemical analysis.
  • Dr. Rajarajan Ramamoorthy - Laparoscopic vs. Open Surgery for Colorectal Cancer: Impact on Circulating Cancer Cells.
  • Richard Brady - Investigation of the role of C-SRC in the NF-Kappa-B –Mediated anti-tumour effects of Aspirin.
  • Sanjay Patel - The role of vascular progenitor cells in restenosis following arterial injury.
